Montréal has one of the world’s busiest inland ports and represents a hub for the transportation of transatlantic goods. Connected to over 100 countries around the world, the Port of Montréal is a leader on North American’s eastern seaboard in the area of container traffic. Specifically, it offers shipments from Northern Europe the quickest maritime access to North America’s east coast and the U.S. Midwest.

• With its fleet of advanced equipment, the Port of Montréal works around the clock, throughout the year. It has access to a highway and railway infrastructure that enables fast access to the main markets in central and eastern North America, including states in the U.S. Midwest.

• The Port of Montréal is one of the most secure in the world. Its outer perimeter and terminals are completely fenced and under constant surveillance.
  
• The Montréal Port Authority has decided to invest in its infrastructure in order to offer optimal quality service and triple its container handling capacity by 2020.
