Tax incentives and financial aid programs

The governments of Canada and Québec have introduced a very advantageous tax regime, complemented by a wide range of tax incentives and grants for companies specializing in R&D and high technology. Moreover, according to KPMG, Greater Montréal is the metropolitan area where the tax system for R&D companies is the most advantageous among the 35 largest international cities surveyed in the study (2008).

The governments of Canada and Québec provide R&D tax credits for companies which can reach 20% from the federal government, and 17.5% from the Government of Québec. In addition to R&D tax credits, many other tax incentives and financial aid programs are available to businesses.
